Podcasts To Listen To After A Breakup

After I was broken up with–I felt defeated, lost, alone, unworthy and less than. It felt like my identity had been taken away from me and the world that I was comfortable in was tossed around like a dog-toy. I felt broken. However, one of the things that helped me reconnect with myself and process all of the emotions that were surfacing during this transition in my life was listening to podcasts. I had never fully given them a chance but I remember feeling like I had nothing else to lose and at this point, and anything would be better than my self-loathing conversations I was having with myself.

Below are podcasts that I listened to after my break-up that has been a large contribution to my healing. I hope it serves you and you can find the inspiration that I did.

Podcast: Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose

If you listen to any of these, please listen to Jada Pinkett Smith’s podcast episode. This has been a conversation that has fully changed my perspective on life from my break-up, relationships with my friends and how I have been able to let go of mindsets, values and beliefs that no longer serve me but still being able to appreciate them.

Truly, this is one that you need to listen to if you just got broken up with. I’m talking about days after. This podcast reminds you that you did not break during the break up and helped you be able to remove yourself (and your identity) from the situation.

This is a great podcast to learn to be more confident in your life and take responsibility/risks. It also gives great tips on how to allow yourself to experience emotions. And I’m talking about fully experience emotions.

I reconnected with what I want to do with my life–in regards to my career–because of this podcast. It’s such a great reminder that you know yourself best–and though your loved ones that surround you may help guide you–if you live a life based on their opinions or approvals, you lose the part where it’s your life.
