A Visit to Greenhouse

I love nature and always want my kids to have love for environment and relish the beauty of nature. Specially in this electronic age kids need time for meaningful family connection and believe me this activity is educational science adventure you can plan with your kids.
So guys this time we planned visiting greenhouse which was an eye-opening educational experience. My twins were super excited to wander through green house and pick out some plants for their grandparents front/backyard.

I was not much prepared for this trip but luckily we found some plant/flower books in that green house with lot of pictures of plants/flowers which helped us identifying plants/ flowers.
My mom was kind enough to share small notebook she usually carries in her hand bag with a ballpoint. So we were happy to take notes about the different plants my twins encountered. My daughter also tried to sketche plants that interest her and we also list their properties with the help of books. You may also ask your kids to label different parts of plants. If you are home schooling it's a wonderful biology lesson you can teach your child in fun way. I totally recommend to have your kids bring along notebook and pencil along so they can take notes.

I also suggest schools to arrange field trip for educational science adventure to teach them variety of subjects including pollination, life cycles, native plants, and other gardening related topics.

We came back home with seeds and kids loved sowing seeds in back yard. Their grandfather let them to experience some hands-on garding activities.

In the end I must say these kind of activities are so important in this electronic age it helps in team building and also promote communication skills. Gardening activities also give kids the sense of responsibility.

This activity also sparked my son to ask many questions like : How does the plant drink water? Why do plants need sun? Why worm are good? Why they spray pesticides? Soon you'll be talking about photosenthesis, soil composition and stuff.

My little twin stars were very responsible and refrained themselves from touching/plucking plants, leaves and flowers as instructed.
