Skinwalker Resort

“If you are reading this that means It got me.

This is a warning letter about this resort. It might look nice but is has dark secrets, hidden away in the woods behind the resort. This letter will guide you how to stay alive.

On the first day I arrived at the sunny-day resort it was calm and beautiful, like it should be. One thing that was odd was that I was basically alone, I saw no one else except the people that worked there. I stayed in room 101, the room closest to the woods. The room was a bit big for just one person, but I didn’t care. Another thing I noticed was the number of animals, not regular animals but cows and sheep. They wondered freely around the resort. I thought maybe they also have a small farm where they get the meat for the resort. But I noticed the animals never ate, not even the thick grass. Maybe they were already full of hay or something.

The first night is the most important night. On the first night the resort’s power will go out. The room will become completely dark. You wouldn’t be able to see your own hand in front of your face. DO NOT OPEN THE CURTAINS! I made this mistake. If you open it, you will see two cows and a sheep standing outside your window. They won’t move or make a sound. They will just watch you with their glowing yellow eyes. They will stand there until morning after that they will walk away. The power will be back on after they leave. During daytime you will be relatively fine. However, it will feel like you are alone the whole time. Throughout the day you might hear voices coming out of nowhere but don’t respond or even think about it.

The first half of the second night will be calm until around twelve o’clock. You will start to hear footsteps outside your room walking on the gravel. This will continue for ten minutes before it stops. When you hear this do NOT look out of any of the windows. Just stay in your bed and don’t switch any light on! Time will pass when there is no activity, about an hour. When this hour has passed you will hear a knock on your room’s door. It will be three knocks. Right after you hear the knocks turn your bed lamp on and open the door. You will find that there is nothing there. Make sure you close the door again. Nothing will happen to you if you turn the lamp on before you open the door. For the rest of the night nothing will happen. This next part is very important! Do exactly the same activities you did the previous day! It will confuse them. This time the resort will be full of people, mostly adults. DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE! Even if they talk to you do not respond or look at them. It’s all a trick!

By the end of this day you would want to get out of here, but you can’t. I Tried it. You have to stay until your trip is up, or until you die.

Night three. The most active night. Around ten o’clock the lights will go out again. You will hear voices of people talking outside your room. It will sound like young people at a party. In-between this there will be knocking on your door and all your windows. Ignore it. When it suddenly goes quiet, close your eyes and count to one hundred. During this you will hear your door open and footsteps in and around your room. DO NOT OPEN YOUR EYES! It’s trying to trick you. When your countdown reaches one hundred you can open your eyes and everything will be normal, however, the bathroom window will be open. Don’t close it. Every change they make to your room is a test to analyze your behavior. Nothing else will happen during the night.

Day four. You need to do exactly what I tell you to do. At precisely ten thirty in the morning walk down to the beach and write: ‘Skin, Skin, Skin.’ With your finger on the sand. I didn’t do this, but I saw someone else do it while I was swimming in the sea. The person did it as if it was a ritual of sorts. Right after he wrote it three sheep walked up to the writing and stood there for a minute or so. After that the sheep walked towards the woods. If you do not do this your last night will be terrifying. You will likely not survive it.

All your windows will break. Every door will be open, and no light will work. Footsteps outside will be louder than ever, and every cow and sheep will surround your room. There is nothing you can do to dull this. You just have to wait until sunrise, or until the skin walker kills you.”

“What a load of bull.” I say to my wife after reading this letter to her. “Someone must be playing a stupid joke” she says, busy washing her face in the bathroom. The sun has set and the moon is out. We both lay down on the bed ready to sleep. I leave one light on in the room just to prove that nothing will happen. Right as my eyes close the light goes out.
